    My name is Mike Barber, and together with my wife Jan own LaGuardia31 accessible holiday villa in Javea. I am a full time wheelchair user after being paralysed in a serious car accident over 20 years ago. I sustained a complete C6/7 Spinal Cord Injury, and was treated at Pinderfields Spinal Injuries Unit.

    After being discharged, I retrained in IT and started working for Wendy Wools within their computer dept. I also played Wheelchair Rugby for Sheffield Eagles. After working full time for many years, I was made redundant. So Jan and I made the decision to look for property in the picturesque town of Javea on the Costa Blanca.

    We both know all about trying to find so called “accessible” villa rental in and around Javea. There are plenty of houses, but so many are just not suitable for anyone with a mobility problem.

    So we decided to design our own. The result is LaGuardia31. It is now available for everyone to enjoy, regardless whether you have a mobility problem or not. The location of the villa makes it an ideal base for exploring the region around Javea and the Costa Blanca in general.
